GPT-6.1 Terra
On October 26, 2026, OpenAI released GPT-6.1 Terra. It is available to Plus, Pro, Enterprise, and Edu users in ChatGPT Work and Codex, and in the API as gpt-6.1-terra. OpenAI describes it as a fast model for visual reasoning, computer use, and writing. Standard API pricing is $1 per million input tokens, $0.05 per million cached input tokens, and $5 per million output tokens, which OpenAI says is 50% lower than GPT-5.6 Terra and GPT-6.1 Sol. For the most complex coding tasks, OpenAI says GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT-6 Astra remain the better choice.

On October 22, 2026, OpenAI made the Decisions API generally available. It uses GPT-6 Luna for questions with bounded answers and, OpenAI says, is up to 10x faster than GPT-6 Luna through the Responses API. Since the public beta it adds a native GPT-Live integration, prompt caching, and inference residency in the US and EU. Requests can include native JSON and images in question instructions, and up to 400 questions, twice the previous limit. Answer types are predicate (a probability from 0 to 1), choice (one of the supplied values, plus probabilities and confidence), and score (a probability-weighted average of rubric level indices). Input is $0.10 per million tokens and cached input is $0.01 per million tokens, with no output-token charge. Regional processing is available in the US and EU.
