Where Bolt fits
Bolt is StackBlitz's prompt-to-app product at bolt.new. You describe an app, it generates a project, and the app runs in a browser-based environment. It is the pick when you want a sandbox you can click immediately and you are comfortable exporting later.
Best use cases
- Prototyping a web app from a prompt
- Demos you can share without a local setup
- Starting a project you may export to a normal repo
Listed strengths
- The preview runs in the browser, which is the whole pitch
- StackBlitz is the environment underneath, so it is a real project rather than a screenshot
- Fast path from sentence to something clickable
Trade-off: Generated projects still need a human once the edges show Plan limits and prices: check site

What changed recently
Cloud Agents for existing repositories
On October 27, 2026, Replit made Cloud Agents for existing repositories available to all Pro and Enterprise customers. Someone describes a change in plain language. The agent finds the relevant code, updates a live preview, and opens a GitHub pull request or a GitLab merge request that follows the team's skills and contribution guidelines. It can test the change in an isolated cloud sandbox by clicking through the running app, then attach screenshots and video to the request. Review feedback worth keeping can become a proposed skill update that an engineer approves before it takes effect; that part is in early access. An admin can share one environment: a Cloud Agent configures a virtual machine from the codebase, and it updates from the main branch. Mention or DM @Replit in Slack to start from a thread. The Slack integration is available to all customers, and a pull request can also be started from the Replit mobile app. Microsoft Teams support is coming soon. Connect a repository at replit.com/repos.
